The CIA World Factbook. This has very detailed information about every country in the world. Who better to check with when you want to know about other countries? Click on the text that says “Select a Country or Location” in the upper left corner.
National Geographic Online. An absolute gem for finding all sorts of information about life throughout the world. Type in your countries name in the Search box in the upper right corner of the home page and you get all the articles done about that country plus extras.
Library of Congress Country Studies. Select your country using the box in the upper right hand corner labeled choose a country to study. A great deal of information for every country in the world.
US State Department Background Notes. Detailed State Department information about every country in the world.
Atlapedia Online – has maps and information on each country of the world.
One World Nations Online. Click on the A-C to U-Z
listings in the top left area, then choose the country you are working on. A
great general resource on all the countries of the world.
The Tradeport Listing of Nations. All countries of the world prepared by an organization that caters to businessmen. The information is geared to help business travelers get along in the country.
The Bartleby World Factbook. Bartleby simply takes their information off the CIA Factbook. They alter the format a little. Useful if you cannot get into the CIA.
World Newspapers. Select the first letter of your country, then scroll to your country when the listings are shown. Click on the newspaper web page, or magazine from that country you want to look at, then look for info that you can use.
Exploring Ancient World Cultures. A web page from the
University of Evansville. Can give excellent background information on how the
various cultures got started.

International Statistics. Links to the statistical
services of all the countries of the world; provided by the U.S. Census Bureau.
