A Letter from the Principal

Dear Little Lake Elementary Families:

It is going to be a great year at Little Lake Elementary! As we embrace the new year, we also embrace new staff and students. As the new Principal, I am excited to be the Instructional Leader where the students, parents, and teachers uphold the motto of “Tradition of Excellence”.

The Little Lake students maintain the motto through their positive character choices and by being a PeaceBuilder. Parents support the school motto through their active involvement, continuous support, and actively volunteering in the classroom. Teachers uphold the motto by maintaining high expectations for all students, providing a positive learning environment, and providing the highest level of excellence in teaching.

Little Lake is one of 16 elementary schools in the Hemet Unified School District. It serves approximately 810 students in grade K-5. Little Lake also services 100 Severely Handicapped students in grades pre-school through grade 5.

Little Lake is one of the oldest schools in the Hemet community. It is a little over 100 years old. It is a school full of great traditions and history. Many of our students are second and third generation Little Lake students.

Little Lake Elementary has accomplished significant gains over the last few years. This year, we are excited to announce that Little Lake’s CST scores show an increase in API scores of 9 points. The API is currently 824, surpassing the state’s targeted goal of 800.

As we continue to strive for excellence, we invite you to join us in our efforts to support Little Lake students to ACHIEVE EXCELLENCE both socially and academically.

We welcome you to participate as a Volunteer in Public Schools (V.I.P.S.) or join our Parent Teacher Association (PTA). We also welcome parent involvement in the Little Lake School Site Council (SSC). Further, we seek involvement of parents who speak another language in our English Learner Parent Advisory Committee (ELAC).

Thank you for all you do to maintain “A Tradition of Excellence” and for helping our students “ Achieve Excellence” at Little Lake Elementary. I welcome a personal visit from you. I look forward to the continued development of a strong “Parent, School, and Teacher Partnership”, where together we will deliver an enriching academic and social experience to our students, and help all of our students “ Achieve Excellence!”

Sincerely,

Marco Baeza, Ed.D.
