Programs: PTA - SSC - Boosters

Idyllwild School is very fortunate to have a high rate of parental involvement and volunteerism from many special community members.

Our PTA has a very large board of directors and an incredible grant-funded program called "smARTS", which promotes visual and performing arts in the classrooms. Local artists (many professional) visit our students on Friday mornings to introduce an art project and assist students in completing their own artistic endeavor. At the middle school level, art is taught in conjunction with the current curriculum being taught in the classroom.

The Idyllwild School Booster Club - a parent group - raises funds for middle school outdoor education programs such as Joshua Tree, Catalina and AstroCamp.

At the middle school level, we also offer Science Olympiad, Academic Pentathlon, Student Council and Jacketeers.

We are privileged to have one-on-one Duolog Reading trained volunteer tutors for elementary students - many of whom are active senior citizens that can share their wisdom and build friendships with our younger students.

The S.A.F.E. After-School Program, "Students Achieving in Fun Environments" (S.A.F.E.) program provides students in grades first through eighth extended learning opportunities from school dismissal until 6:00 p.m. following each school day. Kindergarteners can also sign up for the program but, since the program does not start until the first through fifth graders' daily dismissal time, they need to be dropped off at that time and then can stay until 6:00 p.m. Beginning this fall, the middle school students will be in "The Zone" After School Program. New and exciting opportunities will be awaiting the middle school students including field trips to a dance and a trip to a water park with other Hemet students in "The Zone". Students enrolled in both The S.A.F.E. Program and "The Zone" Program will be provided a nutritious snack each day. Additionally, both programs will provide the students with homework help, academic support in Language Arts and Math, and recreation time. Applications for both the S.A.F.E. Afterschool Program and "The Zone" Program are available in the front office of the school. If you have any questions regarding the program you can call Sue Hines, Idyllwild's After School Site Faciliator, at 951.677.6142.
