Seattle

We spent a couple days in Seattle WA checking out the sites. We stopped at the Pike Place market and visited the Pike Place Fish Market. Nearby, we bought some coffee at the first Starbucks coffee shop. Later, we took the Seattle Center Monorail over to the Space Needle and headed up to the top to look over the city. Nearby, we visited the Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum.

Spokane

We made it to Spokane, Washington after a three-stop flight. It sure is cold here! We bundled up and headed out to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho just for some really good coffee.

Day 11 - The Last Day

The first stop of the last day was in Bath. There, we saw the Royal Crecent and then walked through a portion of the city which from over head looks like a key, known as The Circus. From there, we walked to the Roman Baths.

Day 10 - Another Day, Another Abbey

Happy 4th of July! We started our day with our tour guide telling us that even though we won the revolution we still pine to be a part of the UK because we play Pomp and Circumstance during our graduation, which is also the English national anthem.

Day 9 - Lake District

Starting off, we took a quick tour of Glasgow in the morning. There really isn’t much to see in Glasgow because so much of the city had been torn down in the 1800s and replaced with new structures. We mainly looked at George Square before the tour moved on.

Day 8 - Leaving the Highlands

Culloden Moor has to be one of my favorite spots.  I think I would compare it to visiting the battle field of Gettysburg.

Day 7 - The Scottish Highlands

On our way out of Edinburgh, we drove over the Forth Bridge, which is one of the two bridges we just saw last night at the restaurant where we had dinner. We first stopped at the ruins of the St. Andrew’s Cathedral.

Day 6 - Edinburgh

A new tour guide took over for the day to give us a tour of Edinburgh. Much of the city consists of buildings that date as far back as the 15th to 18th centutry. Many of them look like they are made from black stone, but in reality, these were blackened by soot from coal, commonly burned in fireplaces and stoves around the late 18th century.

Day 5 - The Haggis

First thing, we headed over to York. The narrow streets there are full of small shops. We stopped at an old section of wall that is one of the last standing pieces of built by Romans. We also visited a the large minster there.

Day 4 - Leaving London, on to Harrogate!

Our Trafalgar tour of Great Britain started today. We already felt content with all we had seen in London, but the trip is still just beginning.
