Attendance

Attendance is extremely important. We cannot teach a child who is not here.
Please make sure your students and parents understand the importance of being
on time and coming to school every day. Our ADA is dependent on student
attendance. Independent Study gives students the opportunity to maintain
classroom progress during absences lasting 5-15 school days. The school will
receive ADA for students who complete the Independent Study assignments.
Contact the attendance secretary for procedures. Teachers are responsible for
tracking student attendance and alerting school personnel to poor attendance.

If a student is absent, he/she should return with a note verifying the reason for
the absence. If a child is absent it is important to immediately make contact
with their home and determine the cause. It is the responsibility of the
teacher to follow up each absence and verify the reason for the absence. This is
a very important piece in the educational process. A timely response can help us
to keep children in school and ensure academic success. The Attendance
Secretary is an excellent resource to help you with children that have attendance
problems.
