Educational programs are designed to be flexible enough to provide a positive educational environment for all students, yet structured enough to ensure the development of the basic academic skills. Students also are encouraged to use whatever creative talents they possess. With the support of the community, school staffs have developed highly successful programs in music, agriculture, and athletics.

Special assistance is given to schools through state and federal funds for such programs as Title I, School Improvement, the Master Plan for Special Education and bilingual education.

The District maintains a staff of approximately 850 certificated and 660 classified employees. Salary schedules are competitive with other districts in the area of comparable size. A comprehensive fringe benefit program is offered to the employees of the District. Hemet Unified strives to maintain a 30/1 district-wide student/teacher ratio.

About the Hemet Community
Rolling farmlands, mountain peaks and passes and near perfect weather are but a few of the intriguing features of our growing community. Mt. San Jacinto rises nearly 11,000 feet and offers one of the state's finest wilderness hiking and camping areas. Located 90 miles southeast of Los Angeles, 80 miles northeast of San Diego and 40 miles from Palm Springs, Hemet is within easy driving distance of the Southland's recreation and entertainment centers. Each year citizens of Hemet and neighboring San Jacinto share their talents in the historical Ramona Pageant that attracts visitors from all over the world. Museums, art galleries and other cultural opportunities also are available.
