		Service-Learning What is Service-Learning? Service-Learning is a method of teaching and learning that enriches your life by engaging you in a meaningful hands on service to your community while giving you the opportunity to gain valuable experience that connects with your classroom studies. Picking up trash by a riverbank is a service. Studying water samples under a microscope is learning. When club members collect and analyze water samples and the local pollution control agency uses the findings to clean up a river...that is service-learning. Service-Learning projects typically follow four steps: Preparation Action Reflection and Celebration More than a Service Project... As a member of the Cesar Chavez Service Club you will become engaged as organizers, leaders and decision makers in long term projects and programs while developing a sense of pride and ownership.
