The Man

Cesar E Chavez The Man

Cesar E. Chavez Foundation

Born in 1927, Chavez forged a legacy of service, conviction and principled leadership that served as a beacon for all Americans. He quit school, worked in the fields, joined the US Navy, and married Helen Fabela in 1948. He was the heart of the farm workers movement forming the CSO, NFWA (later the UFW) which eventually led to the AFL-CIO and the first majority labor victory for those workers. He died in 1993.
