Summer SchoolExtended School Year (ESY) 2012Extended School Year for Preschool – 5th grade students, who have Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) stipulating Extended School Year, will be held at Little Lake Elementary School. The dates are June 6 through July 3, 2012. Extended School Year for 6th grade – 12th grade and SAILS students, who have Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) stipulating Extended School Year, will be held at West Valley High School. The dates are June 6 through July 3, 2012. ESY times: A teacher prep day will be held on June 5, 2012 at both school sites. ESY staff is comprised of district employees who have received Governing Board approval. Summer APEX Program – Senior Credit RecoverySummer APEX enrollment is only for current seniors who are deficient 15 credits to graduate. Counselors will be meeting with students to discuss grades, and progress towards graduation. Only APEX on-line courses will be available. The APEX On-line Summer Credit Recovery Program is for current 12th grade students. California High School Exit ExamFor senior students that did not pass the CAHSEE exam, the test will be administered at the District Office on July 24 (English-language arts) and July 25 (mathematics). Students should sign up with their counselor to retake the part(s) of the exam they did not pass. Students are urged to participate in intervention classes and programs offered at their high school that can help prepare them for this important test.
