Background

Mrs. Petri was elected to the Governing Board in November 1990. She and her husband "Pete" have been married 30 years September 2002, have lived in the Aguanga area since 1978, they have two daughters; Melanie and Melissa who attended and graduated from the HUSD schools.

Mrs. Petri along with her husband has owned and operated Sunny Hills Towing since 1987.

Message

"I have been very honored to have been elected and then re-elected to serve as a Trustee on the Governing Board of H.U.S.D. I have seen our district almost double in size in pupil population from under 10,000 students in 1990 to over 18,000 students in 2002. It has been an ongoing challenge to maintain adequate facilities, staffing and planning for the future. However, I truly believe if we are all working together we can achieve not only academic success, but offer our students the tools necessary for a lifetime of achievements as well, where no child is left behind and forgotten."
