BiographyGregg Figgins retired from Hemet Unified School District in 1999 after serving as Hemet High School librarian and English teacher. He was raised in the Valley, coming here as a child in 1942. He attended San Jacinto Elementary School and graduated from Hemet High School in 1952. After undergraduate study and teacher training, he served in the U.S. Army. He taught or served as an administrator at a number of schools in northern California and colleges in the Midwest and California. He completed advanced study at Stanford University as a W.K. Kellogg Foundation Fellow, where he completed his Ph.D. in education. He was a member of teams that prepared educational masterplans and facilities analysis for school districts and colleges. He was later engaged in the real estate and mortgage business. He joined H.U.S.D. in 1990, where he completed his teaching career. Gregg Figgins is married to Bonnie, has two adult children, and lives in Valle Vista. Since retirement he has been involved in several business projects. Education
